In today’s #AwaazMediaWatch, big changes are shaking up the Indian media landscape. Rahul Shivshankar who was Editorial Director and Editor-in-Chief of TV news channel Times Now has found himself a new assignment. As Consulting Editor with CNN News 18, he will host a daily evening show at 7 pm. Shivshankar left Times Now in June 2023 claiming he wanted  to take a break but rumour had it there were differences between the management and the star anchor. Let's wait and see if he is as aggressive in his new avatar, "Hard Fact," as he was his Times Now show, `Upfront'. The winds of change are also blowing through The Telegraph as Sankarshan Thakur, a media veteran with four decades of experience, dons the Editor’s hat. With an extensive career covering Bihar and Kashmir, Thakur brings a wealth of insight into his new role. He will report to the Chief Editor and Publisher Atideb Sarkar (who is the son of Arup Sarkar, whose brother Aveek Sarkar, ran The Telegraph for decades.) Thakur has also written two biographies of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar called XXX and XXX. The outgoing Editor, R Rajagopal, has been named 'Editor-at-Large.' Meanwhile, the Press Trust of India has a new Chairman, after Aveek Sarkar relinquished charge after two terms. Seasoned journalist K N Shanth Kumar of the Deccan Herald has taken over as Chairman of the venerable news agency's Board of Directors.
